My thoughts on the movie and 4K.
One of my favorite horror anthology movies since i saw it in theaters when i was 9 years old, i grew up with the TV show in the 80s like other kids of my generation did and was looking forward to this since it was announced in Fangoria magazine back in 87. This is an enjoyable collection of 3 stories told by a kid who's about to be eaten by a witch played by Debbie Harry. The first story is quite weak, but does have good gore effects and make-up even Christian Slater with Steve Buscemi stealing the show. The second and third stories are great as the second story is a true stomach churner as it was gonna be in Creepshow 2 but was scrapped. And the third story is the best one as it's a tragic story of an artist who finds love after encountering a gargoyle. This movie has great directing by John Harrison, memorable stuff even the climax to Lover's Vow and a great cast even the lovely Rae Dawn Chong to Debbie Harry whom both were boyhood celebrity crushes of mine. A well paced anthology that is the REAL Creepshow 3, not that horrible in name only cashgrab piece of shit from 2006. The UHD 4K offers stunning PQ in Dolbyvision and an improvement over the old blu. The sound quality is great too and has extras from the old disc. My rating for this movie: four out of five stars Last edited by DenOfEarth; 02-21-2024 at 07:01 AM. |
