Default Stephen King's Silver Bullet Now On Blu Ray!!

I did look around on the forum to see if this was mentioned and I didn't see. I came across this right before it came out.

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B07768...ID=61InpeF3HeL

I can confirm that the transfer is gorgeous and works perfectly great on north american region blu ray players. I had no idea it exisited until i randomly came across it on amazon.ca. its a Canadian only release. Sorry if this is more known then I realise.

It's actually an Australian release.

Nice transfer of a movie I've wanted to get on bd since its inception. Picked up the Australian release as soon as it was announced. That's one less Paramount catalog title to wait for.

It's a region A playable Australian disc, and it looks quite good.

I won't go so far as to say that this Umbrella Entertainment Blu-ray of Silver Bullet is demo-worthy, but the presentation is faithful to the source material.

Just don't play it on a PlayStation. It has issues on them for some reason.

Silver Bullet is a decent (but low budget) '80's horror flick, based on the far superior Stephen King novella Cycle of the Werewolf.

They kept the basic storyline as the novella, so that was good (though the story in the novella began in the winter, not the Spring/Summer like in the film). And, the werewolf effects looked somewhat cheesy, but not horrible.

CH's souped-up wheelchair/motorcycle was very cool to see.

Also liked the scenes of summer in small-town Americana.

Side-note: I'm a big "Twin Peaks" fan, and it was interesting to see the actor who played the Priest was also "Big Ed" on TP.

I've had this release for a while and it's quite good. The audio commentary with director Daniel Attias and moderator Michael Felsher is one of the best I've heard.

Guess I gotta be the dissenting opinion here. I watched the current HD master on Amazon a few months ago and it's not good, nor anywhere near "gorgeous." It's...ok. Maybe even less than that. It's acceptable, but certainly could look way better. Who knows if we'll ever get anything better though, since this is a Paramount title. We'd be lucky to get it on BD in the U.S. So yeah, if the movie's a must-have, go for it. I've always liked Silver Bullet, but I'll hold out a little longer. Paramount's been doing decently with the catalogue upgrades on BD and 4K lately, so maybe they'll actually release some stuff new to Blu in the U.S. soon.

I bought this a little while back and have yet to watch it..I guess I might have to pop it into the PS4 (that I use as my primary disc viewing device) to see how it works. Luckily I've got two other players sitting around too if it's just a strictly PS4 problem.

I'm excited that this is announced to be released from Scream Factory. Wonder if it will have the same bit of features from the Umbrella Blu-ray, or if they'll have new features?
