I was curious about this movie but I may rent it before I buy it. We will see how good the story is.

And if so, do you know when the coupon from Disney Movie Rewards will be activated?

Thanks for your help.

I'm guessing it will (and think it's graded, so the $8 for a 3-D combo is more likely than the $5 for a 2-D), and...I'm guessing they won't tell us until a week before.

(And is it sad commentary on the slow trickle of commercial 3-D titles that I'm actually morbidly curious in Vudu-renting it, even though I have six months of trailers telling me it's physical pain?)

I was going to start a Vudu account so that I could download the Vudu digital copies. That was before I found the "Get A Free Trial." Once I saw that button, it made me want to steer clear of Vudu.

See, the reason I wanted to use Vudu at first was because I have a Vudu digital copy for The Eagle and The Adjustment Bureau as well as a $5 Vudu voucher. I have decided not to use these. If Vudu was actually free, then I would have redeemed those Vudu codes.

These things were in the Blu-Ray combo packs of Jonah Hex and The Adjustment Bureau and the Blu-Ray+Digital Copy combo pack of The Eagle.

What are you talking about? Vudu is free! You only pay for what you rent.

Um, it's not a monthly subscription. It's 48-hr. Pay-Per-Title streaming, like the PSN Store.
Otherwise, I'm....not quite sure what you're being paranoid about.

(And $5 in vouchers won't get you much, but it'll get you one movie, including their 3-D streams.
Used mine on a 2-D copy of Harry Potter 7.1, until it showed up as one of their Daily 99-cent Specials two weeks later.)

I am re-posting this comment here since it applies specifically to this title:

I received my copy of Mars Needs Moms on Saturday from the Disney Movie Club. It had no lenticular 3D cover. I called Walt Disney Home Video this morning and was informed that there were lenticular 3D covers made for that title, but the person I spoke to did not know why I had not received one. My concern is that since it was a pre-order right from Disney, it should have the 3D cover. Although some may quibble that it does not make a difference whether a slipcase has a 3D picture or not, I think it helps to set apart the 3D titles from the non-3D ones, especially when some movies are released in multiple formats (DVD. Blu-ray, Blu-ray special edition, 3D). Also, considering that I paid a higher price by ordering from the Disney Movie Cliub, one would think that we'd get something for the extra money. Usually, the club includes a lenticular 3D photo with all selections of the month, regardles of whether they are in 3D or not, but with Mars Needs Moms I received a "Dog Days of Summer" 3D lenticular card that has photos of Lady and the Tramp, Bolt, and an assortment of other Disney dogs. It's a cute pic, I guess, although an ugly orange color more suited to a Halloween promotion. I would have rather have been sent the Mars Needs Moms lenticular. I mentioned to the Disney representative about the non 3D [Alice in Wonderland packaging, and she said that once the 3D packaging has been exhausted, the next wave is sent out without it. I told her I could understand if I bought Mars Needs Moms six months down the road, but I pre-ordered it right from Disney. She agreed that it was odd. I also mentioned all the upcoming 3D releases (Bolt, Meet the Robinsons, G-Force, and Chciken Little), but she said she did not know about their packaging. I guess the same applies to "The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and The Nightmare Before Christmas as well.

The coupon is only for $5 off. Now, that's bad enough but every store is trying to rip us off by charging us $27.99 @ Best Buy or $29.99 everywhere else. This is totally unacceptable and I'd have to assume since this one is $27.99, every future Disney combo pack will be $27.99 or $29.99 on sale. I would recommend that anyone who wants to buy these future combo packs and not get ripped off by the insane price tag, to buy these combo packs used. This is the first combo pack that I'll be forced into buying used because of the insane price tag. $19.99 was bad enough, I refuse to pay $22.99.

Note: The $22.99 is after $5 is taken off of $27.99

Yes. 3D is an expensive treat. But at least I can enjoy watching them many more times than I otherwise would if it was 2D only. Anyway, I think $30 is way better than $40. But if they can get it down to the average title being $25 that would be great. Don't remember for sure but I think I saw that a lot of them are on amazon for around $25. I hate having to order through the mail though. I'd rather just stop at the store and pick em up.

I'm very curious about Mars Needs Moms. Didn't see it in the theater and been debating if I should get it this month. I hear a lot of people say it wasn't very good though, and with so many titles I want coming soon I don't want to risk spending money on something I'm not going to like much. Could always rent it first I suppose. But of course it's always much more fun to see a movie for the first time in 3D.

Same here. There are a few saying the 3D was good in MNM and some say the story is not bad at all. I'm going to rent it from Netflix (2D) and see how good or bad the movie is first.
