Will 'Prophecy' (1979) ever get a BD release?

I'd love for this heavy handed nature gone mad 'message' movie to be released in HD someday. I think it'd look great on the format. Do you think Paramount will ever release it themselves or at least license it out to Olive Films?

Since that other thread has more posts commenting on the other Prophecy film(s), I'll just post this here.

This is actually up there at the top of my most wanted list (alongside Jaws 2).
I would love to see all that, supposed to be, NE forest scenery in HD.
The DVD was good for it's time, but it can't hold up to even a modest HD transfer/encode now.

I don't know for certain, but I would think this film is in the package that Paramount sent to Warner. So unfortunately, I wouldn't expect it anytime soon (next two years). If it's not with Warner, there's a chance somebody like Shout could get a hold of it. They might appreciate it. But that's a big if.

Kind of a bizarre world where Food Of The Gods and Tentacles get Bd releases before this or Jaws 2 or any number of other higher profile, big studio monster movies.

It isn't the wrong one. The op of that thread is referencing the same movie as the op here. it's just the other comments that are thinking of they other prophecy film.

Pretty terrible movie, but in the most amusing way possible. I'd buy a decently-priced BD version of this, just to see all of those feathers from the exploding sleeping bag in high-def.

Does anyone by any slight chance have any update as to whether this might EVER happen?

I loved this movie as a kid. All I can remember is the weird mutated creatures but I really thought it was cool.

If you don't want to wait for a BD release Vudu has the HD download on sale right now for $6.99...I'm thinking about getting it myself, the sleeping bag scene alone is enough to make me want to get this. Damn that scene cracks me up everytime.
