Oldies but goodies - Blu-ray Forum

Anybody got any good ideas of any PS1 games that could make a killer comeback on the PS3. Even if it was a failure on PS1 i could still do damage. (Ex. GTA on PS1 sucked, now it's a killer app.)

I personally would the happiest guy in the world if the gave me a freakin Sim city.

I wish they would make a remake of all those 2d fighters on PS1. You know the ones that the programmers had trouble getting all the animations in the PS1's limited RAM. Marvel Super Heroes, X-men: Children of Atom, X-men vs Street fighter 1 & 2, Marvel vs Capcom. Also the original Legacy of Kain has horrible load times. Bring that back with no load times.

yeah, i freakin loved marvel super heros vs. capcom. They need to bring that one back

Poy Poy was top fun but had awful sound and graphics. Nowadays they could make a game like that with online play for 4-8 players, simple but beautiful stylised graphics. Flesh out the single player so you're not just playing the same levels over and over with the same rules and only your special throw to mix things up. There's lots more they could do with the environments with a modern physics engine, landscape deformation / transformation, weather effects. Character creation, trading of unlocked special throws..

I'm gonna have to go with Parasite Eve.

While this game was actually good when it came out, it could be so much better with what a PS3 could do to it. This game had a great cinematic and movie/game feel to it. Better in HD? I think so.

I would like to see another sequal to Chrono Cross. It was another classic Square RPG, and I would like to see what Final Fantasy 7 would be like remade with updated PS3 graphics. It truly was a genre defining game and helped put Sony and the Playstation name on the map.

I could see it with brand new hi-def, hi-polygon graphics, lossless encoding of the already great soundtrack, and for the time ever in Parasite Eve, full voice overs.

I am sure yor probably sick of people bringing this one up but Metal Gear Solid for the PS1 is one of my favorite all time games.
