Default Did Corey Yuen pass away?

There are news coming out that legendary martial arts choreographer Corey Yuen passed away last 2022 due to COVID.

He directed some of Michelle Yeoh's early HK films including Jet Li's Fong Sai-Yuk , The Transporter and did a lot of MA choreography in Hollywood such as Lethal Weapon 4, Kiss of the Dragon, and The Expendables.

The news came out today. The family kept it private to themselves.

RIP.

Very talented choreographer as those films have some great fight scenes. His talent lives on in these films that he contributed greatly to.

It’s a shame that he’s missing the continued renaissance, critical re-evaluation, and discovery of his work by new audiences — but it’s great that he was here to witness the first few years of that phenomenon.

Total legend and definitely will not be forgotten!

Since all the recent releases of his work (and going back over my old DVDs) in a more or less condensed period I've really grown as a fan of his directing. Somehow I never really noticed how talented he was in that department as well.

Dude even punched up stuff w/o a credit given. Cuz... Hong Kong. For me, 1980s was a insanely sweet spot for that industry. It dwindles at a certain point in the 1990s. Even the bad stuff is interesting to me. Hong Kong just... did crazy shit.
