I have the sony ubp-800 player ,a Marantz sr 5010 and a lg 65sk8000pua.
Dumb question would it benefit me to run the video strait to the tv and the audio to my reciever ? I have it going through the reciever then going to the tv now. I would have to run a extra hdmi for the on screen for the reciever or just leave it as it is and use the pass through . Thanks |

Leave it as is. Both HDMI ports in the back of the player are for people that do not have 4K/Dolby Vision/HDR receivers, so they send the 4K video signal to the tv and the audio to the receiver.

Thanks man. I have it hooked up to arc but not using arc don't know why lol. so if I use the pass through on the receiver it will send better video to the tv ?not sure if better is the word or all video the tv shows hdr but not hdr10 was trying some 4k's with it. Have a day off and I wanted to mess with this new tv a bit. Thank you

It's up to you, but some people prefer to send the audio only to the receiver so they can use the TV's picture picture settings for their UHD player (it depends on the other devices plugged into the AVR), as well as the benefit of using the LG's universal remote.

Gonna try it. used to always hook them up separate before hdmi. The only other video source I have hooked to the receiver is a android box that I hardly use. I think physical media is better imo. I know the receiver has all the audio but not sure on the video.. thank you
