Default Solo: A Star Wars Story TOYS

Didn't see anyone posting about this, and despite my not being all that impressed, I thought I'd share what I saw. Here are most of the 3.75 inch figures:

I think this new Millennium Falcon, as a toy, leaves a TON to be desired:

Finally, we get a young Lando in the larger Star Wars Black figure line. That Rangetrooper is fantastic:

Did... did they purposely try to mash the Harrison and Alden sculpt to make him look more like a young Harrison? He doesn't look like Alden at all.

That Lego Millennium Falcon looks way off from prior models. I get the scaling down but the front pointy parts are now merged. Same ship? I’m trying not to read/view too much into this. Don’t want spoilers. Also who’s the female figure?

They're calling it the "Kessel Run" Millennium Falcon for the Solo movie. Not spoilers since it was mentioned in the other films, but with this being the young Solo, you could guess that the ship may not be his in the whole film...and Ford's Solo has mentioned modifications, so perhaps this is what it looked like before he became the owner.

What a piece of absolute crap.

And, from what I've read, it's going to retail for $100.

Too expensive for kids, and no adult collector with an ounce of dignity would want that thing in their collection.

Hasbro's Star Wars toys have taken a huge nosedive since the Disney acquisition of Lucasfilm. The vehicles have all been cheaply made, under-sized garbage sold at premium prices.

It's not surprising that stores still have unsold stock from TFA and RO collecting dust on their shelves.

The sculpts on those 3.75" figures aren't bad, but they're only 5POA.

Years ago I could of had a Hasbro Big Millennium Falcon for $60 on clearance, but I walked away thinking I'd go back and pick it up later that day. When I returned, I searched everywhere hoping they just moved it, but it was gone.

I think they go for about $800 on Amazon now.

Holy crap! I have a falcon from the vintage collection out in my garage. It's missing pieces, because I got it as a kid and played with it all the time. I can't believe how terrible the new one is.

I'll stick with a lego falcon.

To me, 5POA are fine. It's what I grew up with, and if it brings the figures down to a more reasonable price, I'm all for it. I'd pay $7 for the 3.75 TLJ figures in a heartbeat. But considering I just bought some of the 6-inch figs for $5, I'm gonna hang back a bit.

I'm not really a toy collector, but from what I gather, the toy collectors hate 5POA figures. (I'll pick up the occasional 6" figure that interests me, though.)

Totally crap-tastic, right? From the shots it looks like you can't even stand a figure UP inside it? WTF is that about? How as a toy line, do you get worse than what has come before, yet charge more $$$?

I actually WISH I could find stores with product on the shelves...nothing in the area around me (Philly/NJ) has ANYTHING and I'm always buying for my boy via online. But hand-in-hand, without finding geek-checklists online, how in the world are you to even know WHAT is out? There are no catalogues like what used to come with vehicles. There are no figure checklists on the back of packages...It is almost like Disney is doing what they can to NOT sell the most possible. I don't get it.

The cards for the Solo movie figure line seems like just another spin on what they've been doing. Not really all that interesting to me...

I think we're getting more PoA with the new Vintage line-up.

hmm I was super impressed with the Solo figures. Some of the best ever! And Qi'ra actually looks like Emilia Clarke and not a mutant (so few of the Leia and Padme figures ever looked remotely like the actresses). So much detail and clothing and removable masks and hoods and all, cool stuff. (although the vehicles seems small and weird)

Yeah it sucks a total joke. I mean Lucas made more money from toy sales than he did tickets (and his movies sold a heck of a lot of tickets!). Disney toy marketing, just marketing in general has been an utter joke.

I remember when TFA came out, first most stores had zero SW merch at all and then all the ones that did just had these crappy micro figures and junk. I'd see adults, kids, walk into Target or whatnot, go to the SW section, look around, get a disgusted look on their face, saw kids tossing stuff around digging for something, anything good. Finally found the real classic figures at Toys'R'Us, nobody else had them. And even they had all the most in demand stuff sold out (and they never restocked).

The Dec. release I think hurt a lot too. Too little time before Christmas and many things could not be made for spoiler fears. But even so they did a simply awful job.

For Solo, my Target got some stuff in at the start of Dec. and boom the classic stuff was all sold out in half a week. But they never restocked! Ever. And then for TROS they had ZERO merch at all. None.

I could not find one single bit of TROS merch in any store in NJ (NYC leaning area). It's absurd. The biggest franchise in history has a momentus ending after 42 years and you can't even find one single 3.75", not even a single t-shirt in any store! What a joke. Meanwhile they a gazillion things for Frozen II. Heck they even had old He-man stuff, walls of it. Half a shelf of Jurassic Park:Lost World toys newly on shelf for a movie two years old and Disney can't even get a SINGLE TROS product in any store. I mean utterly ridiculous, could not buy a single figure, t-shirt, anything other than books in any physical store for TROS.

Even Hasbro has been a mess. Their website. My god. You can't even figure out what figures and stuff they have even made. Most people don't even know 90% of the things they made even exist.

Back when 4-6 came out, back in late 70s/early 80s, man you could walk around the mall and be hard pressed to find a store of any sort that didn't have a rack of SW figures and this that and the other thing for sale.

EVen for the prequels, you could find figures and t-shirts all over.
