But seriously. How likely are we to hear any news over the weekend? Do studios/retailers/etc make any kind of announcements on weekends at all?
It is a friday now, so am I to be completely Blu-news free for the next 48 hours?

Wasn't there a huge announcement last Friday at about this same time?

Yes but last weekend was not the norm since CES was looming in the horizon.

You are right, but even still we all can hope! I guess everyone was loving all the momentum Blu has been building, oh well! Some need more patience than others!

Hey I am still holding out hope that our insiders will say something, but they all seem to have gone into hibernation and when they do show up they want to talk about everything except this.

i dont think any big news now for a few weeks, maybe in FEB. as soon as those HD DVD players cant be returned, maybe then the big news were waiting for will hit.

Absolutely zero news will come out this weekend. And probably not next week either. I would guess the end of the month will be the earliest anything happens.

Yeah, I don't see any news pouring out this weekend, although I'll be too busy watching my Seahawks beat up on the Packers, but that's for another topic I suppose.

I think, sometime in February though, things will start moving.

Im just wondering how come there were no blu ray movie announcements there were a bunch of players and the huge Warner announcement but no new movies

A lot of people THINK there are going to be big title announcements at CES, but there never are. People just get confused. Its a hardware show, not software.

A couple places announced their Q1 lineup a couple days before, but mostly that was just because Q1 is here, and it really had nothing to do with CES.

Circle Friday February 1st on your calendar. 3 week in the 80's + Universal's contract expiring January 31st should make for an explosive Feb 1st (IMHO).
