Does anyone have any experience with this release from a couple of years ago?
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/VTX...365cbde651ee18 I just happened upon it yesterday. What really makes it interesting to me is that it also includes the dub, so it's import friendly. I can find little to nothing about it online, though. Does anyone know more than I do? Is it a proper remaster? Did it improve the picture quality? |

It can't be a remaster because Gun x Sword was animated digitally, the best you can get is an upscale or in extremely rare cases (less than 10), a recomposite. Digitally animated anime are forever stuck in the resolution they were animated in. Anyway, no screenshots ever really surfaced to my knowledge.
Also worth noting, FUNi's DVDs probably look worse than the original Geneon DVDs as back around 2008-2010 or so, most FUNi rescues were missing the extras (even clean OP/ED) and had worse video quality than the original discs. |
