USA That Uncertain Feeling (1941) Blu-ray (VCI Entertainment)

Update: This release does not include a commentary track as originally announced/advertised.

VCI Entertainment will be releasing Ernst Lubitsch's comedy That Uncertain Feeling (1941) on Blu-ray on December 8th.

Quote:
Description

One of those light pleasant comedies where Lubitsch capitalizes on the ‘husband vs wife’ theme. Jill and Larry Baker have been living in marital bliss for six years…that is, until Jill develops a nasty bout with the hiccups. Exhausting all remedies to no avail and believing her problem to be psychosomatic, Jill takes the advice of friends and seeks the help of a psychiatrist. This leads to disenchantment with her husband, Larry, causing marital mayhem, when she becomes romantically involved with an eccentric pianist named Alexander Sebastian, who favors himself ‘the greatest pianist in the world’, only, Sebastian, is terrified of performing in front of large audiences! Hilarity abounds in this robust comedy, as Larry strives to win back his estranged wife and in turn, Jill comes to the realization she still loves Larry.

Extras
  • Commentary track by Mick LaSalle, a noted film historian

I bought the VCI Blu-Ray strictly for the commentary track by Mick LaSalle. He's always excellent. The movie is itself is blah.

There is no commentary track on the disk. On Amazon and elsewhere they still advertise the commentary. At the VCI website they removed all reference to the commentary and cut the price in half.

Well, too late for me to do a return. Just a heads up.

Wow, that's a shame. I'm sorry you had to find out after purchasing it, but I appreciate you letting us all know. I'll update the first post to mention this.

If it was in the last four months, from Amazon, I'd still try get a hold of a CSR on the phone and complain- say it was bought with the intention of being a Christmas gift and item is clearly defective (for not containing what is advertised).
Nothing to lose.

I was actually very close to ordering it this week.
My crush on Merle Oberon, which had been lying dormant for decades, suddenly flared up again recently.
I expect it will be starchy and dated, but the clips I've seen look amusing enough.
