Splendid Film will release Stephen Hopkins' Under Suspicion (2000), starring Gene Hackman, Morgan Freeman and Monica Bellucci, in Germany on 25 May 2018.

According to the specifications listed by Splendid here, the disc should include both German and English audio and subtitles, although it's unclear if the English will cover the whole film or just be translation subtitles, as I seem to remember a substantial amount of subtitled non-English dialogue in the film.

Just played the start of the movie. When selecting the English subtitles on via the player or the disc menu , for the scene when Freeman enters the police station and converses in Spanish with the female and then male police officers NO subtitles appeared on screen. For English on English speaking scenes subtitles do appear. Haven't checked the rest of the disc but this is probably indicative for the rest of the film.

I so love this film and have been wanting a US released version of this for many years now.

Does anyone know if this is strictly a region B title or has anyone tested if it's region A as well?

PQ: a bit rough around the edges - i'm guessing this is a nearly 20 year old master and it shows in places. detail is lower than i would have liked and there's a bit of aliasing every now and then. but grain is retained and looks relatively unprocessed. i swear this is 720 not 1080. just doesn't have much refinement. not too bad overall; but not great. better than the DVD.
