Another one of my favorite movies that never gets shown on cable and a "whatever happened to ...." moment. Hard to believe 20+ yrs.

Hah yeah, that's in the right price range for me. I was thinking maybe BB or someplace else will have it at $9.99 for release week.

One of my most anticipated releases this year - such a good film that to me portrays a realistic view of space and humans place in it in the next several hundred years.

It shows up on TNT HD, but they use the non-anamorphic master from the US DVD and crop and stretch it to 16:9.

Day one for me. The 10th is going to be a good day for me with Blu-ray. Outland, Coma and Brainstorm for sure.

Excellent, a commentary with Hyams. Even if it's not new, it's more than the DVD releases had.

Glad this is coming out but very very disappointing there are virtually no extras included other than the commentary and trailer. This is supposed to convince people to spend their money? Sometimes I wonder if the studios are even trying any more or are they on auto-pilot?

The US DVD was 4:3 non-anamorphic and looked like it came off the laserdisc master. A proper HD version of the film (to say nothing of 16:9) plus a commentary and the trailer aren't enough for you to spend your money? Why would anyone want to stick with that horrendous looking DVD? You should be thankful they're releasing it at all, given how little they've ever cared about this film.

Ended up watching this last night and thought it was a decent transfer but the audio was a bit off in certain scenes, in one part O'Niel was flicking through some papers on the right hand side of the screen but the audio was coming from the front left speaker only.
