Default "Patria" (2020) (HBO | Spanish Series)

Quote:
The story of two families affected by ETA's terrorism in the Basque Country.
I looked up ETA and according to Wikipedia: "was an armed leftist Basque nationalist and separatist organization" so there's your answer if you were wondering.

This show looks interesting so I'll definitely be watching it.

P.S. "Patria" in Spanish means homeland.

Another solid show by HBO. I'll admit that I had forgotten about ETA since I'm not from Spain though going through here and there reminded me of them and their despicable terrorist attacks.

What's seems so odd to me is that they speak in Spanish (than Euskera) despite demanding independency from Spain, and they call it "Basque Country" or "País Vasco" in Spanish except it's not a country, it's rather a region/municipality (sorta like a state).

This was a decent, short doc about them:

In the end, they're all Latin/Iberian-European natives so they should have just gotten along together.

P.S. ETA no longer exists as an "organization," but the ideology remains alive (and its supporters see the members as unjustly arrested).
