Apologies - Blu-ray Forum

I guess I should apologize, since my thread was closed and I have been warned. The post was in no way shape or form related to piracy. I'm completely against piracy. But I'm definitely for being able to view my own property on any of my devices that can play it. Including my high definition TVs that don't have blu-ray devices, but have media devices that can receive the movie.

Please don't chastise me or start a witch hunt. I'm not pirating, I'm making my life easier and cheaper. Thanks.

Now if anyone has any ideas on how to back up BDs to a hard drive for later viewing on a non blu-ray device, please post and let me know.

Trey did nothing wrong. In fact I already said what was legal and what wasn't in that thread. Why are people so unwilling to understand the consumers' rights and the difference between back-up copies and piracy?

It's only the encryption that is ILLEGAL to decrypt. That's why I said it's a Catch 22 situation.

Because what is legal in Canada (for the moment) and elsewhere is not legal in the United States where the servers are located, NOR is it productive for the advancement of Blu-ray to have people copying or ripping them, which is what 99.9% of the people do with those tools and information.

End of discussion, end of story.
