Pretty tricky question for me, I always considered the Atari and NES we had as my parents', and I only had the privilege of using it, it wasn't something I considered "mine." The Atari was just always kinda there, I don't even remember what the first-ever game we had was. The NES we might have gotten second-hand or something. First game for that was probably Super Mario Bros 3. At the very least, that was the game I played the most.
The first device I had that was officially "mine" would have been a Sony Vaio laptop from 2001. Back then, I got Tomb Raider III with it and played it like a fiend. So technically, I consider that my first game played on a device I owned. If we're talking strictly consoles though, I didn't get one of my own until 2008, the PS3. First game on that would have been PAIN, which came with the machine as a PSN download. First disc-based one would have been MGS4: Guns of the Patriots. ![]() |

A device, that I, personally, owned as in, bought? I don't know... I'm pretty sure my parents bought me pretty much every gaming console up until I was a teenager... I suppose the first console that I bought with my own hard earned money was the original PSP. I don't remember what game I bought with it, though.

Counting Sega Master System as my first system (though my dad bought it and kept it in my parents' room initially), I'm pretty sure Hang On was the first video game I ever played on it.
I have vague memories of playing Donkey Kong Jr. for Atari (?), which would have happened before playing the Master System, but I honestly can't remember the console or controller or anything, just the game. So without asking my brother (who is older), I'm thinking it's just a made up memory. |

My grandparents owned an original Sears (Atari) Pong console, which I played a lot on an old B&W "console" television in their basement. Around 1976, plus or minus. I would guess the first one I owned was "Combat" on Atari 2600 a few years later.

My parents bought our first PC in '92. 486dx2/33mhz/2mbRAM/120mbHDD/3.5"Floppy/5.25"Floppy
We got some DOS games on it pretty quickly. Jill of the Jungle and Duke Nukem spring to mind. The first console they bought me was an Atari Lynx. It came with Checkered Flag, and I think the first games I got for it were Basketbrawl, Roadblasters and Pac-Land. The first console I bought for myself was a Nintendo 64, which I got Goldeneye and Lylat Wars for initially. |

Something on the Commodore 64, no idea what as it was a seriously long time ago, I then got (was given) the Amiga 600 with Pushover/Grand Prix/Putty and Deluxe Paint 3 so one of them.
I defiantly remember when I got my NES the first game I got was Super Mario Bros. 3, well at least I'm pretty certain of that. For the record my SNES was the Street Fighter II Turbo edition pack. |

My first experience with a video game at home was Donkey Kong on the Atari 2600.
My next system was a Commodore VIC-20. The first game I played for that was called Radar Rat Race. I had a Commodore 64 and an NES at around the same time. The first NES game I owned was Urban Champion. On the C64, I think it was Impossible Mission. I later sold my NES and used the money to buy an Amiga. The first game I had for that was Sword of Sodan. |

Maximum Carnage for Super Nintendo was the first console game I played on my own console. I played PC games for years before that (on my own PC) but I don't know which game was first. I played a lot of Apogee platformers and Sierra adventure games so it was probably one of those.
