Default Do you always watch the whole movie, or..?

Sometimes I think I'd go through more of my discs if I didn't need to make it all the way through each movie once I start them. Do you always watch the whole movie or do you sometimes put something on knowing full well you won't make it all the way through?

Well if I'm nodding off, I'll finish it another day, maybe go back a few scenes that I may not have been conscious for

There have been a few instances where I put on something I like, and turn it off after 10 minutes simply because I'm not really in the mood.

I always finish, but stuff like Lawrence of Arabia or LOTR I might split over two nights.

I've been known to watch under two hour movies in chapters (stopping points) like a book

I always watch the whole movie if I bought it (unless the disc is so bad technically as to be unwatchable). Not a big fan of watching just isolated scenes.

Lately I've been stopping everything after 10 minutes, so bought this new "lock down" lazy-boy that won't let you leave for 2 hours.

When the end credits start to roll, I get up and leave my home.

I go for a stroll around the block.

When the credits are done, I'll come back in.

I don't even do that, if I fall asleep then I start the whole movie over. Sometimes a disc will mess up when you watch it completely but not when you skip scenes, so I make sure it works within return window so I can replace it.

Very rare instances I'll think I want to watch something and then decide not to, but I've already watched the movie in full once already. If I don't want to watch a movie all the way through in general, I won't buy it.

Sometimes I start a movie that I've already seen a few times & watch it in segments over the next few days until I finish it completely. It's kind of sacrilegious to not finish a movie that you start.

If I've already the movie there's plenty of times I'll put a disc in and just watch my favorite parts again.

Been there. It's all about whatever I'm in the mood for at any given time. Sometimes that means I'm not in the mood for anything. However, sometimes I have put in a film on a whim and ended up getting into the mood as it played. Really movies require a commitment of time. Time is precious. And I love films, I truly do, but life is so full of other stuff that it can be very difficult to set aside two to sometimes three hours to watch a film. That's why I generally avoid films I have no interest in seeing whatsoever because there are just too many that I am interested in seeing that I don't know if I will ever have the precious time or energy to invest in watching. C'est la vie.

I treat my movies like my meals--I try my darndest to finish them all off. The vast majority of my rewatches are completely beginning-to-end.

Lately, for first-time viewings I will speed up some videos if they're really tedious (preferably 1.5 speed so I can still hear the dialogue). I have skipped a couple of scenes on some movies depending on time and such. There are only a few first-time viewings that I never completed all the way through.

I always finish, and I quite often (not all the time if it's getting too late) watch the credits as well.

Sometimes i'll put a movie on cause I like the soundtrack when i'm chillin'. Either on laptop or tired I may fall asleep, just a nap. This is mainly on my days off or Vacation

My beautiful 8 and 5 year-olds make it so I'm lucky if I can stay awake for an hour if I get a chance to sit down for a movie, so I'm almost always splitting them in half these days.

I never start a movie I don't intend on watching completely. Just can't do it. I've been like that for over 20 years. Ever since I started collecting my own movies. Like many of you, however, I have had to stop a movie early on just because I wasn't in the mood. But it isn't the artsy, fartsy stuff like you would think. If I put in Tarkovsky or Bresson, i'm in the mood to watch Tarkovsky or Bresson. It's when I put in a comedy and then realize maybe I want something more serious and vice versa. Doesn't happen often, but it happens...

I can't start watching a movie without starting at the beginning. Once again, over 20 years I have been doing this. I don't "channel surf", and absolutely can't watch anything with commercial interruptions. And to be honest, I haven't watched a movie on HBO, Showtime...in several years. The picture quality of cable is ass. It's either in my collection, or sometimes, on Netflix or Amazon Prime.

I'm kind of snobbish about it, but it is what it is.
