Strangers Unrated Question

I just bought the movie and watched it at home but i cant seem to tell the difference between the unrated and the theatrical. I saw it in theaters as well but I dont recall a difference...did anyone pickup on the scenes?

I didnt notice anything different either. Ill have to see it again to make sure i didnt miss anything.

I thinks there's more footage of Liv crawling on the floor and James in the truck.
Supposed to be 2 minutes of additional footage.

The difference is in the ending. The little cell phone bit isn't in the theatrical cut.

"UNRATED" & "NOT RATED" is sooooo OVERRATED. b4 it met more NUDITY, now it means: U JACKA$$ES GIVE US MORE MONEY FOR NOTHING... its just stupid!!!! i haven't seen this movie yet but i will b getting it.

Actually, unrated has always meant the same thing. That it wasn't submitted to be rated. It never meant there was added nudity or anything like that.

I think his point is something used to be called Unrated for a reason. Now it just seems like a marketing ploy to sell more discs. Back in the day unrated cuts of horror movies actually meant something. There was lots of blood and gore cut to get the R rating. Now unless it's a directors cut, we're lucky to see a few minutes of extra footage.

Oh well it definitely is a marketing ploy. When the director's cut of Armageddon came out on DVD way way way back in the day, it was unrated but they didn't plaster it all over the box.

Now-a-days you can pretty much tell when something is being used as a marketing ploy by a few simple words. "Too extreme for theaters!!!" is one way I tell that the added footage isn't much of anything. Or "The ending you couldn't see in theaters!!!" I personally don't care if it's unrated or not (unless the director specifically says his intended version IS the unrated one).

If your gonna do it do what Peter Jackson did. Make the movie better. Not dirtier.

yeah the whole unrated BS is pretty much a ploy to sell more movies,I've seen a couple of movies that were released PG-13 and put out on DVD or BD as Unrated and the only difference was a couple extra F words

Technically, they only have to add one additional frame to the movie to be able to call it "Unrated" because the MPAA didn't see that exact cut.

What's even lamer, is that most of these "unrated" releases would just be R if they had been submitted to the ratings board. Nothing that couldn't be shown at your local cineplex.

I have a quick question. One of the most famous moments in the movie is when the girl asks one of the killers "why are you doing this to us?". And she answers: because you were home.
I just watched the movie and that line "because you were home" is not in the film. Was that supposed to be just in the trailer? I think I remember seeing that when I first saw the movie.
