In 2014, I had a small unpaid part in a very, very low budget movie that almost no one ever saw and that even I never got to see. Last night, however, I discovered that a tralier for it was on youtube. The movie is titled: Natural Born Filmmakers and the 2 and a half minute tralier can be endured here:
The most amusing thing, for me, is that part of my little scene made it into that trailer beginning at about 36 seconds and running until about the 1 minute 15 second mark. I even have two acting credits on imdb.com as a result of my acting debut in this movie! All I can say is that my performance did nothing to help this movie and this movie did nothing to launch my career. ![]() Funnier still is that the entire 82 minute movie can be rented or purchased from vimeo: https://vimeo.com/ondemand/naturalbo...kers/243506877 And even I can not quite bring myself to pay to see it. If my whole scene survived intact, it is no more than 4-5 minutes of the movie. Again, I was not paid for being in it and I will never see a dime from it. My only reward came from the fun I had doing it and the memories that yet linger. I have always maintained that I will not buy a digitally distributed movie, being the staunch pro physical media advocate that I am, but should I make an exception here? I can't help but wonder how much of my scene was used, especially now that at least part of it appears in the trailer. If I owned a copy, I could make all those that know me personally suffer through it with me or I could be nice and let them escape with just having seen my clip from that trailer. Or am I better off not knowing? If you had played a role in a movie such as this one, would you want to see it or would you rather just enjoy the fond memories of having been on the set? It was a damn lot of fun to do even if it is painfully embarrassing to watch now. Last edited by Vilya; 05-15-2019 at 11:58 PM. |
