A new fifth series of Shetland starts on BBC One next Tuesday (12th February) at 9 pm, following Holby City. There will be six episodes in total.

Disappointed this series hasn't even had a Blu-ray release in the States or Germany.

Not read anything else apart from this, but I saw in a TV listings magazine a few weeks ago that there will be a further two series/seasons of Shetland.

The sixth series will be starting in something like a couple of weeks' time, based on Shetland appearing on the back page of the new issue of TV & Satellite Week magazine (it is among a few shows featuring in next week's issue).

The upcoming sixth series has a UK start date. It's a six-part series which begins on BBC One on Wednesday 20th October at 9 pm.

In a feature about Shetland in the new issue of TV & Satellite Week magazine, it mentions that they filmed the upcoming sixth series back-to-back (with a break inbetween) with the seventh series (the show had been renewed for two further series). The seventh series will be shown next year.

Think it was on Geektown where I read it (this week), that (and I'll put it in spoiler tags as Series 7 of Shetland has yet to air on the BBC). There were a few weeks inbetween filming of the sixth and seventh series of the show (the sixth series has aired). Apparently,

Following on from the above, quoted post, the new, seventh series of Shetland is starting in the next fortnight on BBC Scotland and BBC One. This is based on it being previewed on the back page of the new issue of TV & Satellite Week magazine and seeing a trailer earlier before this week's new edition of Beechgrove (on BBC Scotland).
