USA The Hellbenders / Kill Them All and Come Back Alone 4K UHD (1967-68) (Kino Classics)

Kino will be releasing a double-feature of Spaghetti Western Classics, which includes The Hellbenders (1967) and Kill Them All and Come Back Alone (1968) on 4K UHD on February 4th, 2025. Each film will be on a separate disc, and "Kill Them All.." will include the English and Italian cuts of the movie.

Quote:
This special edition includes two classic Spaghetti Westerns. Kill Them All and Come Back Alone (1968) – From Enzo G. Castellari, the legendary director of Street Law, The Big Racket, Keoma and The Inglorious Bastards comes this action-packed spaghetti western starring screen and television great Chuck Connors (The Big Country, TV’s The Rifleman and Branded). In 1864, a mercenary Clyde McKay (Connors) leads a squad of tough-as-nails cutthroats on a mission for the Confederate high command to infiltrate an enemy fortress and steal millions in gold from the Union Army. Frank Wolfe (Once Upon a Time in the West) co-stars in this fully restored first-rate tale of betrayal and revenge. The Hellbenders (1967) – From Sergio Corbucci, the legendary director of Django, Navajo Joe, The Great Silence and The Mercenary comes this classic spaghetti western starring screen icon Joseph Cotten (The Third Man, Duel in the Sun) as the fanatical patriarch of a family of ex-Confederate killers who massacre an army convoy carrying millions in cash to finance an invasion of the North. But before they can re-ignite the Civil War, they'll have to smuggle a coffin crammed with the stolen cash across a frontier enflamed by lust, violence and extreme vengeance. Aldo Sambrell (For a Few Dollars More) and Al Mulloch (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly) co-star in this fully restored western shocker. The Hellbenders—also known as The Cruel Ones, Features a rousing score renowned composer Ennio Morricone (A Fistful of Dollars).

Got the UK Blu-ray of Kill Them All and Come Back Alone and it’s absolutely brilliant fun.

Great news! It's an interesting pairing, but I will keep the Blu-ray of The Hellbenders.

It would have made more sense to do a Corbucci Double-Feature. Regardless, happy this is happening.

Wow, just noticed now that Kill Them All and Come Back Alone was being released on 4k, that’s awesome! Not sure if I’ve seen Hellbenders, but looking forward to it

God can they make Hellbenders look less DNR'd? I really hope so the BR Looks great, but...would really love a rescan of the negative or whatever they have. Never seen the other movie so will rebuy because Corbuchi is a top 5 directors of all time IMHO.

Did anyone see mentioned why they paired up these two particular films? Was there a reason or was it just random?
When I saw the Hellbenders was being released in 4K I got excited, however I'm not familiar with the other film.

I thought they were releasing them separately as well. But....if they aren't, oh well. Hellbenders is a fine specimen of a spaghetti western. It's worth the money by itself. I'll just consider the other film a bonus. I've never seen the other one. It may be great too..

The only connection is that Corbucci and Castellari were contemporaries .. that's it. Corbucci is the better of the two. Kill Them All and Come Back Alone is a decent SW version of The Dirty Dozen that came out in 1968, while Hellbenders (1967) is also a lesser Corbucci SW starring Joseph Cotten that has more thriller elements (I read somewhere the producer co-wrote the screenplay and was the driving force, i.e., overbearing).

Someone better than me can elaborate on these two films, but it feels like a two-for-one deal on some more middling spaghetti westerns that probably wouldn't sell as many copies if they were released individually.

The Hellbenders is easily the better film, but they're quite different outside of both being spaghetti westerns. Kill Them All And Come Back Alone is much more action-oriented.

Can anyone confirm if, for this 4k release, the soundtrack audio issues are fixed in "The Hellbenders"?

In the old release, the Morricone score would skip some notes at times. It was quite jarring if you know the song. Thanks in advance!
