Actress Nina Bergman (Assassin X) just posted a series of interesting tweets this week, revealing that Universal is prepping a new adaptation of Doom that Bergman will be starring in!

The actress tweeted, “Wow I’m doing the next “Doom” movie w/Universal Pictures! I just signed all the paperwork. I get to go back to Bulgaria again and work with some of my favorite people. This movie w/a super cool Director AND my new record coming out, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.”

In a subsequent tweet, Bergman said that the new adaptation will be superior to the 2005 film, as it has a “much better script.”

At this time, no official announcement about a new Doom movie has been made, but we’ve reached out to Universal for comment. So stay tuned for more as we learn it.

I really like the 2005 movie. It's gory, good action, funny, memorable characters, good fx. It's a solid Aliens rip off. I can't comment on whether it's a good adaptation of the game but I really enjoy the movie on its own merits.

Doom (2005) is like Rampage (2018). They both have The Rock, and both serve no purpose to the original game, but are amazing movies on their own accord.

I'm totally up for this.

I wonder if they'll show us DOOM Guy for the first time on the big screen.

It's a great movie, even though it holds minimal ties to the game. A great fun movie, but a terrible video game adaptation. I still watch DOOM on a weekly basis. I was also talking on a personal level, not generalized. Just another internet opinion.

Unless I am mistaken, the most recent game was the first to have a female enemy character, if they go after the gory no-nonsense attitude of it then this could be a great film unlike the previous one which had far too little action.

Whoa. Hate is a pretty strong word. I don't think he was dissing the movie. More like a self-aware fun jab at his early movie career. All in good fun.

Doom, same as max payne didn't live up to what it could have easily been. But thats kinda the genre trying to make a movie recapture the greatness of the game (I still have my Wolfenstine shareware disk) my OG doom2 box/cd...


Glad they're giving it another shot and hopefully a turn around and turn it into the franchise it coulda been.

Doom has no storyline. They use the ole science experiment issue, but in the end it's simply 'Survive a demonic invasion'. That's basically what the movie was, only it was genetics and alien DNA and not demons.

I want it known too that I didn't particularly like the reboot because it was nothing like the originals. Apparently they replaced kill one or two zombies every few rooms to kill HUNDREDS of zombies every room.

They can easily adapt what they have between Doom, Doom II, Doom Ultimate / Doom3/Doom (bethesda), heck even some of the custom made fan stories from early days into an awesome coherent story (Think Alien 3 but crash landed in hell or something and more than 1 alein/ demon)

The reboot of the game bethesda captured what the originals did best, run and gun with music... By the final boss battle I was back like a champ at fast paced in your face kills like I hadn't been in a LONG time gaming... Compared to Doom3 that tried to bring artificial AI and dynamic enemies into the mix and a very slow pace.
