Release date: 27th November (For now!)

Description
Chuck Norris, six-time World Karate Champion, stars in his first suspense film as the tough, street-fighting sheriff of a small Texas town terrorised by a psychotic killer. Sheriff Stevens (Norris) is faced with the dilemma of stopping the invincible murderer, made virtually indestructible through genetic engineering. A young group of researchers are responsible for developing the genetically altering serum, and the head of the research institute is determined to continue the experiments, regardless of the consequences. Norris displays fighting brilliance as he single-handedly routs a dozen brutal bikers from a truck stop hangout, while revealing a warm and sexy side when he rekindles an old romance with Alison Halman (Toni Kalem), a researcher at the institute. Excitement, horror, and romance prevail as Norris combats the killer.

This was my favorite Norris film as a kid. And as a Texan, it was even cooler.

I think the US BD we got sucked. Haven't seen in HD ever. But I have fond memories of the old VHS very well.

Always remember this:

For any real improvement, I think we need a new master. Hopefully 88 has access to one. It's one of my fav Norris movies too, one where the challenge is significant enough for Chuck.

This film is awesome. I have the German release, which is a solid upgrade over the US dvd (and looked better than the US blu on capsaholic) but certainly welcome a better edition. This will be the first uncut release for this cult classic in the UK since its cinema release back in 1982. Crazy isn't it!

Hugely entertaining flick until the ending, which is just rubbish & has possibly the least surprising 'jump scare' ever put on film. I know we shouldn't expect Oscar-worthy writing in a Chuck Norris film, but come on...

[Show spoiler]The baddie is an indestructible killing machine who's been shot, maimed, set on fire, injected with acid & had most of his bones broken, yet still keeps coming. Did anyone apart from Chuck think dropping him down a well was going to finish him off?

Such a pity. I love the rest of the film but that ending always ruins it for me.

The theatrical poster does have the greatest tagline ever though:

"Science Created Him. Now Chuck Norris Must Destroy Him"

Good news, hope it’s a nice new master.

[Show spoiler]It was Chuck's way of dealing with someone that could not be killed / destroyed. He threw him down a deep well that would at least be a serious hassle to climb out of. If the film had done well enough, maybe they'd have had a sequel too

As a kid, I didn't know what Michael Myers was like aside from the look. So I didn't know what he did aside from be a bad guy. To me it was Texas Sheriff Chuck Norris some creepy crazy killer. He was always so sweaty and it was disgusting to me. Made him more terrifying to me.

As an adult, it's Chuck ****ing Norris vs. Michael Myers. That's enough for me now. And a nice notch on this film's belt.

If this gets a remaster. I mean, I'm probably going to buy it cuz it's 88 FIlms but it'd be pretty dang cool to see it look real purdy too.

I guess this will likely be the Mill Creek transfer with better encoding and on a BD50.

Silent Rage is a 100 min movie with stereo audio. It won't take up anywhere near 50GB if it had better encoding. Hopefully it's at least a less processed version of the master.

88 will have some extras and i think they routinely use BD50 nowadays. Not an issue though, i'm sure it'll beat out the Mill Creek disc.

Nice to see this is getting a new release. A Chuck Norris film that I don't currently own. Will definitely be picking it up.

As mentioned above, just a trailer extras-wise.

Looks like Shout are releasing Forced Vengeance, bet there's slim chance of a UK release.

Given it's with WB, I'd say zero as things stand.

Mort importantly, it looks like the same master, and the sharpening seen on the US release is baked in, so there's no meaningful visual improvement. I don't think it's a huge video upgrade even over the triple feature disc from Mill Creek, which I got for about 9$.

Good to know. I prefer the packaging of the single-disc Mill Creek with the retro-VHS O-card anyway:
