Default Rambo (First Blood) vs Rambo 4

Plain and simple, cast your vote. I liked 4 much more than 1.

First Blood just seemed like it was trying to make a statement, and it was very, very low key, especially compared to Rambo 4. Much like the Fugitive IMO, but I liked Fugitive more than First Blood.

2 different types of movies, but just like how Stallone saved the Rocky name after a few cruddy sequels with Balboa, Rambo IV is one of the best action movies to come out in years.

Gotta go with First Blood, but Rambo 4 was certainly a great, great action movie. I'd even say it's the best sequel (and part 2 was pretty darn decent itself). But still, First Blood is a classic.

I can't believe that someone actually liked the second one. I swear I own the movies but not once I started First Blood 2 that I didn't end up falling asleep during that movie. As a matter of fact I have no idea what is going on with the second part.

I liked First Blood, then part 3, and finally part 4.

I liked it, think it tied up the first one nicely...

For some reason I just can't seem to watch the 2nd part without falling asleep. I will try to watch it again tomorrow.

Honestly, I think Rambo (4) did what 2 and 3 failed to do....which is make a very potent and awesome realistic action movie. Honestly, 2 and 3 are very passable. They're alright, but that's about it.

I still vouch for Rambo 4. Blew my mind.

Both are awesome but different. I think First Blood has an edge on Rambo do to the emotion of the character I liked Rambo a lot but to me it was just a film showing that Rambo is still a bad ass killing any bad guys he can find.

EDIT: I know the point Stallone was getting across but I like to enjoy the film as just that, a film.

I didn't see much of a point to Rambo 4. I loved the characters in the first Rambo and the battle of wills. It's a very symbolic film on so many levels and I never get tired of watching it.

As much as i agree with everyone who says Rambo 4 is a great movie, i have to vote for First Blood. Especially the ending of that movie strikes me every time i watch it. I can't wait to own it on Blu, and watch it again.

First Blood is by far a better film in every way IMO. The sequels have tried to follow FB in telling a message but none have done it as well. The forth one is the closest to FB, but the OTT action takes away from the message.

I really liked First Blood. It had sort of a "Deer Hunter" atmosphere to it. I loved the whole survival idea (I am a big MGS fan). The ending was very fitting as well.

While Rambo 4 touches on some political issues it just not the same. But its still miles better than 2 and 3. After all the war films I have seen, Rambo 4 actually surprised me. The action is so brutal and original.

First Blood by far! Love that movie. One of the best lines ever, "they drew first blood".

Rambo was actually the first in the series that I saw. I thought he was just some over the top war action hero, comparable to Arnold S. characters. Then I saw the preview where he rips out the guy's jugular
I thought I knew what I was in for but it was dang brutal.
I had no idea what First Blood was about so that took me by surprise in a very good way.
Part II I thought was okay. Rambo III was just hard to watch with any interest.

First Blood is amazing and Rambo is a really awesome film. It is also a great closer with the end (though I am looking forward to Rambo V).

Default Rambo vs first blood

For me first blood easily gets my vote as best film, although i do like rambo. I did find him to be far more brutal in rambo, the jugular scene in particular and the stabbing scene toward the end, although any who have seen the film will agree that man deserved what he got.

Rambo was great, I just can't imagine someone sitting through it eating a movie theater hotdog without vomiting from all the blood spray and flying body parts.

Rambo 4 is what got me into Rambo to begin with and I also like it more.
