LG 2019 OLED E9 Thread (Model premiered May 2019) - Blu-ray Forum

My story has evolved into purchasing the 2019 65" LD E-9 this weekend online. Delivery is expected in a few days, but I want to get a head start with asking other e9 owners (or those who are familiar with the unique e9 that came out in May of this year).

Some new extra features were noticed from rtings.com which help mitigate potential screen burn in, as well as out-of-the-box settings versus tweaking the settings to better calibrate the viewing experience.

I chose the 65" which will replace my B7 Oled at the foot of my bed, giving me an excellent preferred viewing distance of 7 feet from pillow to screen. (Placing it against the wall at 12 feet was "okay", but nothing beats having it sit on a small wooden piece of furniture at the foot of my bed. The difference in viewing is enormous. And I have noticed upscale hotels are also placing their large screens at the foot of their king beds on a narrow lift cabinet that are remotely capable of raising or lowering the TV, but at the same 7 foot distance.

It also looks like 65" has become the standard in sizes to buy. The next size up from the e9 65" was a bit too much for my pocketbook and probably unnecessary given how close the e9 will be to my pillow.

Also, the reviewers have said that standard bluray disks at 1080 can appear to look very much like 4k. I found this to be true on my B7, where I could not tell the difference between some 1080 disks and 4k. Perhaps I will have no need to replace some of the 1080's in my library with the 4k edition. (What I see is what I get)

With the e9's ability to upscale older disks, this is good news for me.

I don't want to start out by posting how much I paid and how much I saved and how much my cashback reward was, but that can be in another reply here.

I did make the purchase online at Costco.

Anyone else own this model?

I have an E9 and love it. Wish it came in 77"...

Being the Costco model, it doesn't list WiSA ready as an option and is missing from the specs (OLED65E9AUA vs OLED65E9PUA). This was the very reason I didn't get my OLED65C9 from Costco (OLED65C9AUA vs OLED65C9PUA). How much cheaper was it in the end through them for the A model?

The list price today is back up around $3000.00 . But a few months back when I paid for it, there were so many rebates, discounts, and price matches being thrown at me that my final out of cost was $2199.00 . See this link: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...9#post17103999
