Awesome OLED displays now offered in high-end Laptop computers. Now if we could get some desktop computer monitors with OLED displays that would be awesome. Also some 24 inch to 32 inch OLED displays for kitchens and small offices would be ideal in the future.
quote "The newest members of Dell's ultrapremium XPS family, unveiled at Computex this week, include a thoroughly overhauled XPS 13 2-in-1 and a new OLED display option for the XPS 15." https://www.pcmag.com/feature/368515...ke-to-2019-xps |

I have a 5K LCD monitor that's 2 years old that has fairly long image retention if I leave the desktop on too long.
So the screensaver is always running. As of why a computer oled monitor, some photographers and videographers/filmmakers would like to see the true shadows of their images as they work on them. Of course you can use an 4K UHDR 55" OLED as a small monitor. ![]() |

The Dell UP3017Q is the only LED monitor I know but it seems to be discontinued.

Having a OLED computer monitor is not necessary it would be a overkill, especially if you use your computer primarily for writing documents, spreadsheets or other office work, surfing the internet and social media. Nobody doesn't need a OLED computer screen for that. If you're watching Blu-ray or 4K movies, a person would want to watch them on big screen OLED, LED or a QLED TV screen, not on a computer.

OLED computer monitors are ideal for 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, watching YouTube and any streaming content. Surfing the web is ideal with a OLED display since website pictures have absolute blacks.
Anyone with a 55 inch or larger OLED flat panel should try sometime connecting their computer to see how much better OLED can look while surfing the web (Might want to limit the web surfing to 2 hours since some OLED displays have burn in issues with static images). Also making 30 to 40 inch 8K OLED computer monitors would be fairly inexpensive compared to a 88 inch 8K OLED flat panel. Last edited by HDTV1080P; 09-28-2019 at 05:08 PM. |

When people are surfing the net, doing their online shopping, chatting on facebook, Instagram, twitter and other social media, they're not paying that much attention to the blacks, and colors on the screen, especially when you're only typing a document, or doing other office work. Whenever I want to watch Blu-ray and 4K movies, I'll watch it on my big screen, and when I want to surf the internet and shop online, etc, I'll do it on my computer. A standard computer monitor is all you'll need for basic internet and office use. Personally, I don't like watching movies on small screen portable devices. I didn't invest in a 65" 4K TV, and Dolby Atmos, DTS:X surround sound for nothing.
