Default Independence Day?

I was at Best Buy today in the blu-ray section and they had those little yellow stickers that showed new items and prices in the blu-ray section and it said "Independence Day" Blu-Ray $34.99...I wish I would have taken a picture of it! WEIRD!

Guess thier POS (point of sale) person did not pay attention to what they were doing. I am sure that caught a few people off guard and had some head scratching going on.

I am getting quite a bit skeptical with Fox. The delay of ID4 in U.S can mean that Fox is not willing to compromise on any QC issues with the U.S release. Does this mean that they are willing to compromise on something with the overseas release assuming that the overseas market won't cause any buzz or harm like the domestic market ? For ex, the framing issue in POTC-1 wasn't a big buzz overseas but was taken very seriously within the U.S.

I have a copy on pre-order and there has been no mention or discussion of delay from amazon.co.jp. they are even promoting it as part of a front page discount and as part of a 2 movie set.

The problem may not even be with the movie itself, it is probibly in the java-based game included on the disc, which is why they may still be releaseing it in certain countrys that may not have the 5% player issue.

Buy.com has it listed as "Temporarily Out of Stock" with a release date of 12/4. Very confusing. Hopefully, they won't cancel orders like they did with David Gilmour's BD.

Well Fox stated that the problem with the Independence Day disc was only with 5% of players... it's possible that those 5% of player were all North American PS3s or something like that.

Yeah, or a certain model that wasn't released overseas.

DigitalDogPound.com must be a big operation because the girl I talked to didn't have a clue. She called one of her distributors and they said ID4 Blu was delayed. They just haven't pulled the auction yet. So, unfortunately no they don't have it. I was about to pull the trigger on that BIN though because I want this movie BAD!!

i would pay $40 for this title... no question or doubt in my mind. good reasearch though. We can only pray for a "blades of glory" ordeal and see a legit copy actually show up for cheap!

Im just wondering, is this a new cut? The original version was 145 min, the extended was 153 min and the Blu-ray version is 147 min.
I was really hoping that the Blu-ray version would be the extended version so Im alitle dissapointed about that.
