Franklyn - any good? - Blu-ray Forum

Hello there.

Yesterdat i blind bought this flick, just saw some screens of it and i loved it, but appart from that, i've never heard of this movie.

I've searched on a few BD sites for a review but didnt find any.

Could someone please do a little review at least on PQ? the plot dont matter now, i better not know anything about it!

PD. I import movies thats why im asking this, because it will come to me in a few weeks still

The PQ is suppose to be excellent from what I remember reading on the avsforum with recommendation for top BDs. Then I started looking for threads or reviews anywhere besides that and I could not find a thing. I'm sure more feedback will be available soon.

Its good, very good but certainly not what you are expecting if all you've seen are trailers and promotional images put out by the publishing studio.

Lots of screencaps here to get an idea of the PQ (spoilers included)

Yup, i bought it after watching those images, didnt watch the trailer tho.
They look really good imo

'FRANKLYN' is quite simple one of the most intense, visionary, marvellous and poignant movies I have ever seen in my life. An absolute masterpiece.

I even created a Facebook group for Jonathan Preest.

Great movie and I'm glad I decided to rent it and give it a go.

As far as PQ? Well Star Trek wasn't the best one released for 11/17. Franklyn is unbelievable!!!!! Bet your eyes will be glued to the screen!

Based on reading about it...... I was going to blind-buy it..... but the price is a little high still....

If the price comes down enough before netflix gets it to me (long wait) Then I'll blind-buy it still..... Looks FANTASTIC.

Probably should, I guess - I have not seen it yet but I am eagerly awaiting delivery of the blu-ray (shipped yesterday).

I rented based on the pics I saw on this site and because it has Sam Riley in it (loved his portrayal of Ian Curtis in "Control"). It wasn't at all what I expected and I just couldn't get into it. There are a lot of dry spots and Ryan Philippe's character never lives up to the hype. It is a beautifully shot film but that doesn't make up for the weak plot. My opinion of course.

i did like this movie alot but its not a movie that will fall into everyones taste.
