I have currently had the pleasure of owning Integrated Amps for home theatre, for the longest time I have wanted to own a Pre amp and then a seperate Amp with Balanced XLR in 7.1
I have not been able to find one. I have looked at the Sunfire, Parasound, McIntosh and many others. Is there such a device? Sorry Mods: I think I put this thread in the wrong place. Well it IS about Home theatre. Last edited by sAvAgE69; 01-12-2008 at 02:50 PM. |

Integra makes the DRC-9.8 pre/pro and there have been many posts on other fora from happy owners.
http://integrahometheater.com/model....=Separates&p=f I'll cast about for a balanced amp. |

Well, it sounds like you're looking at pretty high end stuff. With that in mind, there's a buzz about the Classe SSP-800 which is supposed to be out in March.
It's supposed to be "the best sounding pre/pro on the market at any price." Price is supposed to be $8K |

No advanced codecs yet but the platform has been well supported by the manufacturers with excellent upgrade pricing programs when new things come along. It's also probably the only pre/pro that has advanced bass management to support main channel subs in addition to the LFE. And of course you get the critically acclaimed Logic7 processing. |

I'd go with the Anthem Statement D2 or AVM50 great reviews all over the internet. If you really want to part with some cash you could wait for the new CAT/Krell pre-amp or the Mark Levinson Number 502 that is supposed to ship later this year.

I called my local retailer and he asked me what I am going to be using the pre amp for. I said mainly for Blu Ray and I asked a lot of questions ( I Still need to do some research on this) He Suggested for the same price range the Rotel 1069 Processor linky is here
http://www.rotel.com/NA/Products/Pro...ils.htm?id=463 he said for the same price this is a better sounding amp than the integra. Can anyone vouch for this processor? However I am concerned there are no Balanced XLR from the Pre amp |

...my pre also has balanced 7.1 outs...so they are out there....no advanced codecs over hdmi though, so it's 7.1 analog ins. Bryston is working on their next gen audio only pre/pro 'SP-3' w/ hirez audio capabilities etc....so maybe in the latter half of this year might know more about it....should be interesting.

Eh the Rotel is nothing amazing. I feel they just piggy back on the B&W brand to get into a lot of stores. I mean its a decent product on par with NAD but it just doesn't have the cutting edge features, that many other pre-amps have. In addition I find the Anthems sound better.
If you use some sort of universal custom programmed remote the Integra's are going to be much better as they control beautifully are rock solid, come with a 3 year warranty. We use Anthem, Integra, Linn and Mark Levinson in all of our jobs and depending on how the nice job is we move up from Integra to Mark Levinson at the top. The Integra is a great piece and comes highly recommend from a situation where our clients do not tolerate their systems not working. |

Thank you very much for the input you all have given me. I have done a lot of research and reading over the past few days on this subject. I have decided to pursue the purchase of the Anthem Statement D2 with a P2 / P5 Setup for my home theatre experience. the reviews are fantastic on these. so hopefully by October I will have the components
here is some information on their site. if you love audio and video and want to go the extra mile. This would be my recommendation http://statement.anthemav.com/HTML/P...tml#image_proc |
