American Assassin (2017) 4K UHD is available for pre-order on Amazon Canada. I suppose that means it will be released in the States as well. In Canada it's done by eOne. Maybe it will be Lionsgate in the US? Release date in Canada is December 12.

Vince Flynn created the Mitch Rapp character and I read all of his Mitch Rapp books. Alas, Flynn died in 2013. I didn't see this movie in the theater but am considering buying the UHD HDR TrueHD Atmos disk. My only reservation is that at first blush, at least, Dylan O'Brien seems remarkably miscast as Rapp. On the other side of the ledger, I have heard good things about the film's Atmos soundtrack. Also, I am a sucker for loud and dumb movies, which have good production values.

I have a strong feeling this will be a one-time-viewing type of movie, so I'm thinking of waiting a little while to pick it up for $14.99.
