France Revenir (Return) (Adéle Exarchopoulos, Niels Schneider)

Source

Quote:
The first clapperboard will slam on 27 August for Revenir (lit. “Come Back”), the feature debut by Jessica Palud, a filmmaker who won a raft of awards for her short film Marlon (nominated for the César Awards in 2018, among others). Standing out among the cast are Niels Schneider (César Award for Most Promising Actor in 2017 for Dark Inclusion , also popular in Heartbeats, Sleeping Beauty and You and the Night [+], among others, and set to grace screens soon in An Impossible Love, Curiosa and Sympathy for the Devil) and Adèle Exarchopoulos (Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2013, César Award for Most Promising Actress and Lumières Award for Best New Actress in 2014 for Blue Is the Warmest Colour , giving great performances subsequently in Orphan and Racer and the Jailbird.

A loose adaptation of Serge Joncour’s novel L’amour sans le faire by the director, together with Diastème (French Blood [+], Sunny Spells [+]) and Philippe Lioret (nominated for the César Award for Best Adaptation in 2007 for Don’t Worry, I’m Fine and for the César Award for Best Original Screenplay in 2010 for Welcome), the story revolves around a man who comes back to the farm where he was born: "It’s my family, and it’s the farm I was born on. My brother, who left us; my mother, who is now doing likewise; and my father, with whom nothing was ever possible. I ran away from it all five years ago. But today, it’s Alex, my six-year-old nephew, and Mona, his radiant mother."

Produced by Marielle Duigou and Philippe Lioret for Fin Août Production, Revenir will be distributed in France and sold overseas by Pyramide.
