I've preordered it on Amazon; I'll be on the lookout for any news on the transfer. If it's a reissue of the old disc I'll cancel, but apparently Shout! has been reissuing the Corman movies with new restorations.

I bought a copy for my daughter years ago, but I just realized I don't own this. I don't care about Steelbook releases, but I'll get this one if the video and audio are improved. I kind of like the grungy look and sound of the old release, though.

I don't know if anyone noticed this, but the details were apparently released yesterday. This is from a new 4K restoration, and for extras it looks like we're getting a new documentary/featurette made from some new interviews, plus all the extras from the old Blu-ray.

Quite an improvement. Much better detail and shadows; looks like the framing's opened up a bit as well.

Wow those caps look excellent. Quite a big leap in quality. I always thought the "RAMONES" font on Rocket to Russia was the wrong colour on that old SF disc. Nice to see that it's the correct colour now, along with everything else. Riff's jacket is a deeper red, the sky is a deeper blue, etc. This looks lovely. The framing is opened up a bit, the grain looks nicely resolved. I've been waiting for someone to do a proper restoration of this film for years, and that time has finally come. Also nice that it's in the proper 1.85:1 ratio.

I watched this movie all the time when I was a kid when it used to air on MuchMoreMusic back in the day. Can't wait to get this.

I'll hope right along with you; maybe it'll come back around in the form of a US release of Over the Edge. Apparently a company in the UK is working on that one.

Had to drive 25 miles to see this on opening day and it was more than worth it. Being able to see it now with this quality is also more than worth it.
