I don't think Shout has ever used A.I. as far as I can tell but i'll admit this artwork is a bit weird. The guy's mouth on the left definitely looks like something A.I. would do, so who knows? No matter what, the whole thing is pretty bad.

With the amount of releases they have to handle and constantly announce, I can see them using AI so they don't have to hire any artists to work on the artwork and it's cheaper too. Unfortunately, we have been seeing this more often where AI is just replacing human jobs especially in the art department.

Those are the new masters. Notice that Shout is credited as the studio.

I would expect THE KILLER to be a December release. That and HARD BOILED are rightfully the big two priorities from the Golden Princess deal.

Yeah, I've been opting for the Shout releases for these, but the artwork for that trilogy being so terrible kind of makes me want to wait for the Arrow, especially because I only outright love the first one (the third one is very good, however).

That said, I am open to getting the Arrow 4Ks of THE KILLER and HARD BOILED as well if there are any significant improvements in encoding/extras/packaging.

Yes, this art is awful, no Shout is not using AI as far as I know. I say this knowing that especially awful art that was dropped from their Blaxploitation box set was in fact from a real person. Why they’re approving this art, however, is beyond me (and especially baffling with the already commissioned Tony Stella art for all these that looks great).

I get the sense whoever is making these art decisions for Shout just doesn’t care or has terrible taste lol. Regardless, anyone who truly cares about packaging art can at least look forward to the eventual Arrow releases.
