I hope this is a new edition with the DVD extras included. If it's just a re-issue of the previous disc...
![]() Kevin Smith movies tend to have extremely entertaining extras, sometimes even better than the movie itself. I was so disappointed that the J&SBSB blu was barebones. The only reason I even own it is because it came in the box set with Clerks and Chasing Amy. I'd definitely double dip for the extras. |

This is some great news! I really hope they include the missing extras. The old release was one of my top priorities, but not anymore. It really sucks that they put Oh What a Lovely Tea Party on Clerks already, because it would make so much more sense here.

I will consider double dipping (I already have the DVD and existing Blu-Ray) if this new release includes any of the following:
*Special features carried over from the DVD, preferably with as many of them in high def as possible (if most or all of them are in SD, it's not as much of an incentive since I can already watch them in SD with the DVD). I highly doubt that this will happen, though. *A brand new transfer that improves over the original BD. Not that the existing transfer is bad, but it is one of the very early Disney/Buena Vista BDs, and many of them were done with Mpeg-2 based encodes, and there is room for improvement. *Having some kind of new feature(s) included on this disc that we haven't previously gotten (though I'm not sure what never-before-seen extras could be included since the making-of was included on the Clerks BD). I guess it would be nice if this ended up being some kind of 10th anniversary release with a new commentary track (preferably inaddition to the original and not in liu of it like in the case of Chasing Amy on BD), and/or maybe a 10th anniversary Q&A recording. Wow, it's hard to believe that it's almost 10 years since this came out. It seems like just yesterday. I saw this about 4 times in the theater. So, what's with this re-release being put out by Lionsgate anyway? I wonder why titles like this and AdventureLand are being lisenced out to them. Not that it's a big deal, but it just seems odd (particularly in the case of AdventureLand, which is a relatively recent movie). Last edited by Dynamo of Eternia; 03-22-2011 at 03:12 AM. |

The answer to "why" is simple... Disney no longer owns them and no longer has right to sell them. |
