Default What was the first Blu Ray movie?

Twister had the honor of being the first movie on DVD so what was Blu Ray's? I wasn't sure what part of the forum to put this on so feel free to move this, mods.

If I am not mistaken, there were seven titles at launch date june 20, 2006. I am sure that Hitch, The Fifth Element, and House of Flying Daggers and The Terminator were included.

According to Wikipedia the first BD movies were 50 First Dates, The Fifth Element, Hitch, House of Flying Daggers, Underworld: Evolution, xXx, and The Terminator.

Actually, if you want to count the first "test" blu ray made, I think it was Charlie's Angels or something, as I recall. Which is funny, since I don't think that one has been released or is even scheduled.

Goodfellas (the crappy initial release) and The Departed were my first 2 blu rays that I bought together. Was so pleased to see how outstanding The Departed looked on blu ray after witnessing how awful the dvd looked which is one of the main reasons that pushed me in the blu ray direction.

The initial releases of 'Pan's Labyrinth' and the 5 disc 'Blade Runner' from 2007 only because it was 'on sale' at BB for $14.99 each. Was a year before I even bought a BD Player. Was still hot for HD-DVD at this time

"Twister" also has the honor of being one of the last films released on HDDVD.

I can't remember but it might have been the Target exclusive for Black Swan.

When did "the first Blu-ray" came to mean "your first Blu-ray"?

On a related note, when blu ray first came out I chose poorly and opted for the HDDVD route. My player is long gone but I still own;

Troy
The Italian Job
The Frighteners
Pitch Black
Smokin' Aces
Shrek the Third
Full Metal Jacket
The Bourne Ultimatum

Eight pretty red cases containing eight thin drink coasters.

Memento. I won it in a contest before I even had a bluray player. It's a good movie, but not one I would've ever bought. But I keep it for the memories, since I never win anything, ever.

Forbidden Kingdom (2008). It was either that or Equilibrium (hadn't seen either at the time and still haven't seen the latter). I've since sold it on.
