I think Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will likely open north of $40 million. There has been a lack of adult-oriented films lately, what with all of the Disney remakes and such. Tarantino will deliver a big opening I think.

Really want Tarantino to succeed big time with this one. $65-$80 mil?

He spent enough on the cast alone.

I’m pulling for Tarantino, like the dude managed to make a three hour R-rated Western on slavery a Christmas hit, but the hype just doesn’t seem to be here for this one.

Not gonna win the All Valley title with this kind of box office fighting. Bleecker Street's THE ART OF SELF-DEFENSE kicked up just $1M as it expanded into 550 dojos, $1,919 per, $1.2M total.

My theatre has OUATIH on 3 screens. Is that really necessary?

Wild Rose surprisingly is lasting a 2nd week here, with all showtimes remaining. Usually the indies here get one full week, then drop to 1-2 showtimes for the second week, then are gone. I wanted to see it but I see it's been released in the UK and Australia like 2 months ago and should be on digital in those countries in a month.

For some reason The Hustle has managed to last a 12th weekend at my movie theatre. BoxOfficeMojo has stopped reporting the numbers on July 11th.

Looks like BOOKSMART is expanding into 555 theatres.

2. ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD - 35.7 MILLION (New)
3. SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME - 12.297 MILLION (-42%)
4. TOY STORY 4 - 11.041 MILLION (-29%)
5. YESTERDAY - 3.916 MILLION (-22%)
6. CRAWL - 3.474 MILLION (-43%)
7. ALADDIN - 2.859 MILLION (-30%)
8. THE FAREWELL - 2.335 MILLION
9. STUBER - 2.098 MILLION
(-49%)
10. ANNABELLE COMES HOME - 1.43 MILLION (-45%)
11. AVENGERS: ENDGAME - 1.060 MILLION (-30%)
12. THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS 2 - $859,636 (-44%)
13. MIDSOMMAR - $814,187 (-49%)

I actually think Hollywood might do better than this as it performed very well at my theater Thursday night and seems to be in others as well. But it could maybe be a bit front-loaded too with Tarantino fans coming out right away.

I was hoping one of my theatres would get Wild Rose but alas nothing. Going to drive an hour after work tomorrow to see it, plus it gives me an excuse to catch The Farewell for the third time this week
