Well, that might explain it; the UK blu-ray is being released by Eureka, the US DVD was by MGM. And the DVD didn't even have as much as a trailer on it!

Does anybody know what region this is? I see it listed at some places as ABC and some sites (like dvdverdict) say region B only. Does anybody know for certain?

Thanks for the info - that's great news.
I'm curious about the "Music of Mark Twain" feature. Are they separate complete audio tracks that play like a soundtrack CD, or are they just isolated score clips that contain the bits of music as in the film? It would be great if they were the actual complete tracks, like they did with Fantastic Planet. |

I only learned of this recently when I saw it in a Youtube video about the most disturbing children's cartoons. Looks interesting. We already have Watership Down on Blu from that list, let's hope The Adventures of Mark Twain is followed by The Black Cauldron, The Plague Dogs, and Felidae.

It's certainly possible, it just wouldn't be any time soon. I doubt it's a high seller so I can't imagine MGM deciding to release it. On top of that, Eureka has produced some great extras for the disc. Wizards is finally getting a release from Fox. But alas, none of the extras from the Eureka disc are included. I can't imagine MGM paying for the rights to include the extras either.
When there's a release as good as this one, waiting for a possible American release and hoping it will match in quality just isn't an option IMO. It would be different if the quality wasn't up to par, but this release really is as good as it can be in terms of quality. |
