Thumbs up 2019 TV Shootout Evaluation event will be in NYC, June 12th

Just signed on to host my 2019 TV Shootout evaluation event with CE Week NY at the Jacob Javits on Wednesday, June 12, 2019. This year we brought in Joel Silver, Scott Wilkinson, Kevin Miller and John Reformato to calibrate the displays, moderate the event and be part of our special VIP presenters program.

Our panel of expert judges are made up of Hollywood Post Prodution colorists, finishers, respected TV reviewers and video engineers. We'll also have the public voting and I will publish the voting results of the professional judges and video enthusiasts public who attend.

We're planning to webcast the event live and have a moderated chat room so off site viewers can participate in the event.

The premium TVs all look exceptional this year so we're expecting this to be one of the best TV Shootouts since I created the event 15+ years ago.

CE Week's management gave me VIP badges that only be pre-registered by me personally for any of my personal guests. So all members and visitors of Blu-ray.com can be pre-registered with VIP all access badges and with no fee. Email me if you can attend and I'll put you on CE Week's pre-registered VIP list.

As a surprise preview of things to come I've arranged for a few 2019 8K HDR TVs to be displayed and demonstrated in our TV Shootout room. They will not be included in the voting for the "2019 King of TV", but this will be the 1st public showing of these upcoming ultra giant 8K HDR TVs of the future.

Hope to see many of our Blu-ray.com members and readers join us for this year's TV Shootout evaluation event!

Sounds great. Can’t wait to see how the A9G does, and how the one you guys are calibrating for me looks.

I take it the Z9G will be one of the 8K sets that will be on display?

That would be nice being able to see it in person.

As of this moment we have the following TVs confirmed for the 2019 TV Shootout:

LG’s C9
LG’s SM9500
Samsung’s Q90R
Sony’s A9G
Sony’s Z9F

We are still evaluating other TVs and I’ll post here if we have any additional TVs to include.

We'll also be displaying and demonstrating a few 8K TVs to give our attendees a preview of the next generation of TVs, but they will not be in the TV Shootout competition.

I can't wait to see and hear your thoughts regarding the Z9G. That is possibly my next order from you

I have, over the years, live-streamed and love it.

Can't wait

Robert still enjoying the LG G6 I got from you!

Be sure & put a link to the live stream.

I’d like to upgrade some time but hate to lose the 3D with the G6.

Just confirmed that we'll have a native 8K HDR video server in addition to our 4K HDR content so we'll be able to best demonstrate our 8K TVs.

For the TV Shootout evaluation I'm also bringing in our store demo Kaleidescape Strato S 4K Ultra HD movie player 12TB so we can demonstrate minimally compressed 4K HDR Hollywood films. Most of the evaluations will be done with our presenters discussing and putting up 10 bit test patterns from our new Murideo 10 bit test pattern generator and 4 Panasonic UB9000s that will be queued up to play scenes to show how content looks in each of the image performance categories that we will be testing and voting on.

We just added Andrew Sivori, Vice President, TV Product Marketing at Samsung Electronics America to CE Week's 8K Panel discussion. Here's the complete list of panelists that will be presenting their perspectives on the next generation of HDR TVs.

Smile I believe this would be of interest to a number of viewers

Robert, as an aside observation, can there be a comparison of Dolby Vision content displayed between the C9 and A9G?

This would probably be the deciding factor for me.
