Over the past few months my PS4 1TB Slim has had trouble reading Sims 4 but every other game just fine. When inserting the disc, it sounds like some eject sounds and it says "Unrecognised Disc". The disc is completely clean and it takes a few goes to get it to run. It's recently been doing it with some other discs.
My current system version is 6.72. Now I watched a video on YouTube of someone who has a similar issue and he did a "Install System Update via Internet" in Safe Mode, now when I tried that last night it stated version 5.72 and when it went to install it, it said "Corrupted Update File." Could that be why my console is having trouble reading the discs, ie. an older update being corrupt? Is there a way to fix it other than what Sony always wants to do by returning to factory settings and Reinstalling System Software, thereby erasing everything on the HDD? |

Probably not the same thing, but when I put a game in it will not recognize the disc from my PS4 being too low on memory since now games require you to install the entire game even if you buy it physically. So have to always free up space just to be able to play new games.
