I am looking forward to upgrading my twenty year old (!!!) DVD when this one comes out, and I am very pleasantly surprised that it will be getting the Criterion treatment. This is a terrifically entertaining movie that does a very good job of contextualizing The Rumble in the Jungle. In the manner of good histories and biographies, the film makers use this event as a sort of prism through which we can learn about world at that time. I must have really watched this thing to death back in the day, since I can recall and quote so much of it ("We must whup Mr. Tooth Decay!"), and I can't wait to see this thing for the first time in probably ten plus years.

Oh yes!! Also rocking the old-ass DVD here, to say that an upgrade is well overdue is an understatement.

A great documentary. Wish they could've somehow included the fight in its raw TV broadcast as an extra, but it's a minor complaint for one of my now most anticipated releases of the year.
