I know some have "issues" with the source material, but great news indeed!

Meanwhile, we’ve also learned that Paramount is planning to release Mission: Impossible – Fallout on 4K Ultra HD after its theatrical release this summer. Sources are suggesting to us that the earlier Mission: Impossible films are likely to be released on 4K by Paramount around that time as well, in much the same way that the Transformers films were last year with the home video debut of Transformers: The Last Knight.

Really great news and an absolute day one buy, but shouldn't this be in the 4K section?

Definitely a set of films that'll be worth the upgrade Really hoping we might possibly see VAR for Ghost Protocol though. Of all the IMAX releases missing VAR, this is probably the most painful one.

If it’s true (I’ve been saying that a lot) it would be great news. Highly re-watchable series for me.

I love all the films apart from Mi2 which is a turd. But I'll still force myself to watch it in 4K, just the once like

I was actually watching MI3 the other day, thinking, "The bluray just doesn't cut it. It really needs some 4k HDR". Of the 3-5 films, 3 needs the most help. 5 looks the best on bluray and should really shine in the format.

I never intended to upgrade so many of my blurays... but how can I say no? Looking forward to seeing this in UHD.

Just my opinion, but I quite like M:I3 the best, never saw M:I2, M:I4 is ok, M:I5 is forgettable, and M:I1 is quite a chore to get through (although Cruise still has his "movie star" looks in it unlike the more recent entries).

So quite a mixed bag. I'd probably only be in for the third one to be honest.

The slow motion scene where tomcat is spiraling in his car while looking at what’s her face transcends dog shit cinema. It’s truly awful but I have a disease and must own them all.

Mission: Impossible II is the best one out of the series, maybe save for the first one. This is how I love my action movies. It's a damn shame Woo never really "made it" in Hollywood. Still during his Hollywood stint he was able to deliver one of my favorite movies of all time: Hard Target.

That would be the beautiful Thandie Newton.

And that scene, along with the Spanish dance sequence earlier on, are some of the most captivating pieces of cinema art I have ever encountered. Pure art. I don't care what anyone thinks of that.

I'm down for them. 3-5 in particular would be day one buys. 1 might be too depending on price. I'll get 2, but only when it's on sale.

Unless they have a five pack. Then I'll just get them all.

sadly eviscerated by the MPAA - the workprint VHS version I own is vicious and insane in the bloodletting.

I'm here for Mission Impossible 2 especially, just like DJR662. John Woo is the illest. Thandie Newton is also one of my favorites, since Flirting.

I do like the rest though, first one is super solid especially.

Over here in Europe we got to enjoy a slightly more violent and bloodier R-rated version than in the US.

I also own the workprint. And while it's certainly nice to have, the pacing suffers IMO. Wish that ear cutting scene would have stayed intact though (as well as all other small violent extensions).

Great news. I'll get M:I 4 and 5 for sure...and 6 if it's good. If MI: 1 is a remaster and a new 4K transfer or a really good new 2K transfer I will get it. The only way Ill buy 2 and 3 is if they are really cheap or if a complete box set is cheaper than the individual releases.
