Finally. I have the 88 Films Blu-ray which looks great, but this is a title I will upgrade for (especially with all the new bonus features).

I just caught wind of this film through the In Search of Darkness documentary. My morbid curiosity will likely drive me to buy a copy.

I am ecstatic for this 4k release! Hooray! 2 copies ordered. I have the old Troma laserdisc and both the Anchor Bay & 88 Films blurays. Whenever I watch Friday the 13th, I think of this movie being shot across the pond (not lake) at the same moment. And vise versa! Very happy to see the new scan is from the original negative! Years ago, this was reported to have been accidently destroyed by FedEx!

Awesome news.

Assuming Archival interview with assistant art director Rex A. Piano on the VS release is the same as Introduction by assistant art director Rex Piano (1:00) from 88 Films' release, then everything from that Blu-Ray has been ported over.

The OOP Troma DVD still has the following things that remain exclusive to it:
Slideshow (4:59)
Bonus Scene: Brother's Names (0:28)
Growing Up with Lloyd Kaufman featurette (2:08)
Mummy, dad, Zombie (cut-scenes from the documentary) (8:01)
Mother's Day on Troma Edge TV featurette (4:43)

VS’ UHDs tend to be pretty good at retaining archival extras whether from 88, Arrow, Shout Factory, Second Sight, Troma or others.

I just watched this new Mother's Day 4k release tonight. Unbelievable release, consider the old Anchor Bay & 88 Films blu-rays defeated...blown right out of "Fonzie Lake". Beautiful transfer, beautiful audio. All the new interviews are about a half hour each. Loved the locations revisit. And learned new Mother's Day trivia bits. Great stuff. I never thought I'd see the day Mother's Day would get a definitive release. This is it! Couldn't be happier!

It is just my disc or at 41 minutes 36 seconds in to 4k there's a video issue. The screen gets wonky for a moment. I checked my anchor bay disc. It doesn't happen on that disc.

Another video issue. This time at 1 hr 7 minutes and 27 seconds. The same issue as the other ( blurry screen at 41 min 36 seconds ) this time it lasts like 2 seconds. None of these issues appear on my anchor bay bluray Or the V.S Bluray

^ The blurry thing can happen when a case is off-gassed and it has gotten on the disc. So check your disc surface, and if there are any cloudy spots, wipe them off with a microfiber cloth.

I always wipe off every new disc with a micro fiber cloth. 4k twice. Yes, I wiped it off again & again even though there were no spots. I just know wiped again for fun and tired it. Same issue occurs in both spots in the movie.

I didn't trust that I didn't miss those visual hiccups, so I checked out my disc again on my panasonic 820 player. There is nothing happening at 42:36 or 107:27

Sweet as candy! Glad to hear it. I really did hope it was just me. Sometimes you just get a bad disc. V.S is sending me a replacement. Booyah!
