Paramount will be releasing The Running Man on 4K UHD with a November 8th release! It will be released as a Steelbook with slipcover.

I know Olive had this for a while after Lionsgate, just like The Monster Squad. Hopefully Paramount can give us the 4K of that as well.

Picture quality on my Blu-ray is pretty poor, so 4K UHD should be a nice upgrade.

Saw my Capelight copy earlier this year and it still holds up! Anything dystopian will always have relevancy as we inch closer to our own dystopian nightmare IRL lol

Yeah, the UHD I imported has DTS HD-MA 7.1 and PCM 2.0. Unless they port that over, I don't plan to get the steelbook.

Yes! It's about time! I've been waiting for a North American 4K release. I caught this on TV some years ago and absolutely loved it.

It's part of the Republic library that Paramount owns. They've usually licensed it out over the years (Lionsgate, Olive).

I'm guessing this will be using the same restoration as the Capelight. The Capelight has surprisingly good encode so will hard to top it just in terms of PQ.

Can't wait to finally upgrade that 20 year old Artisan (remember them?) HD master. The 7.1 remix was really amazing though so as long as that and the original audio is included I'll be happy.
