Default Introducing PlayStation Hits: Great Games at a Great Price

North America:

Quote:
PlayStation Hits offers a lineup of games for $19.99 USD (MSRP) each on PlayStation Store and select retailers across the U.S. In Canada, PlayStation Hits games will range in price, starting at $19.99 CAD (MSRP) each at participating retailers and PS Store.

At retailers, PlayStation Hits games will come in red packaging instead of the usual blue, and at PS Store the games will have red banners that’ll make it easy to identify which games are part of the Hits lineup.

This new program will start on June 28 in the U.S.

Europe:

Quote:
PlayStation Hits offers titles for just €19.99/£15.99 RRP each starting July 18. The range is available both digitally through PlayStation Store and physically via select retailers across the region.

Most of these games have been $10 - $20 on a regular basis for years. I’m only interested in MGS at $20 as it’s usually around $30, but not the added ugly red border/case.

I'll pick up Yakuza 0. Weird that this wasn't already a thing.

Why do they always have to have altered packaging? Why can't they just drop the price on the already existing print of the games and just keep selling those?

I notice the US does not have The Last of Us as a Greatest Hits title. Unless it's just an unnamed title.

Seriously.. why are they so afraid of 9.99 or 14.99? They would have SO many more sales overall.

39.99 on PSN here, 29.99 at Wally and best buy.

I'll definitely be buying some new games.

Well. Color me unimpressed

Most will either own all those, played all of those or purchased all of those for a cheaper price

This is how you know the PS4 is at the end of it's life cycle when you start to see the Playstation Hits come out.

I mostly keep up with games, so nothing for me as I’ve played all I want of those.

Nice deals for those that haven’t and people buying PS4 late in the generation.

Yeah, most of those games have been $20 or less in sales, but now anyone can get them for $20 without shopping for deals and future sales will have them in the $10-15 range.

You guys need to understand that the discount label doesn't mean they're locked at $20USD but rather forcing retailers to mark these at a discount price no more than $20USD/or lower. This is not new.

That has always been a thing though. Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony has all had altered artwork for their discount lines since the late 90s.

Actually PS3 had quite a few $30 Greatest Hits titles. More towards the beginning though.

It was, it just wasn't with a title, all these games have been below this price frequently for a very long time now.
