I want to be excited. I’d kill for Seven Beauties and The Conformist in 4k. But Ritrovata doing the restoration makes me think the image will be swept away by piss water.
Still, better than nothing I guess. |

Wow, this is huge news. Absolutely incredible. Hopefully this is a SDR master as this’ll surely be encoded by Kino. Fingers crossed this sells well and we get more of Wertmüller’s films in 4K as the older masters are overdue for upgrades.
But then again Raro have a deal with Radiance in the UK… ![]() |

I am also quite worried about this - the restoration studio has left much to be desired. RARO hasn't afforded great encodes in the past either. My hope is that a foreign boutique label picks this title up.

I picked it up at Orbit this weekend. It is not like other Raro titles, first foray into 4k and it is sweet as well as the outstanding sound which is twice what the former Kino Classics Blu-ray was. I understand they are following up with Seven Beauties. Nice slip case and was 27.99. Remember, this film is shot thru a with a gauzy look for the most part and looked like this theatrically, which I have seen many times. The outdoor initial sequences are very nice with full color and guess what?....,l. No yellow tint to it. Film is presented thru Minerva Films. When I saw it theatrically, it was distributed thru Cinema 5.

The 4K version of Swept Away is dramatically better than the DVD and BR versions; that is visually. The audio is the way that it is because of the Italian way of dubbing everything after shooting is completed, in those days and possibly even today. Francis Ford Coppola got upset with the Italians during the filming of Megalopolis because they would make noise or say something that he then had to reshoot.
