actually not, what he does best is drama like Ju Dou, Raise the Red Lantern, The Story of Qiu Ju, To Live, and recently Coming Home
but his 3 wuxia films are excellent, too, so I have high hope for this project, after the disappointment of Great Wall

That is the operative word. You referenced his earlier work. I was speaking more or less in terms of the other movie that's been mentioned by others, including yourself.

Not a fan of that dull grayness, in stark contrast with Yimou's previous colorful, gorgeous martial arts epics, but it looks better than The Great Wall already.

A bit gutting it just looks so desaturated (I know, I know, it's called Shadow), would have been cool to see him work straight up black and white.

It's funny, because at the beginning of the trailer I was thinking t myself, "Can't they post one with English subs?" Then it occurred to me, "Who cares?!" I mean the visuals are the draw, not what some narrator or character says.
