![]() I knew the Rick Grimes trilogy were pitched as "big budgeted epics" that I assumed would be airing on AMC (meaning they'd really be more like an extended TWD episode). But upon hearing they're exclusively coming to theaters AND distributed (possible funded) by Universal, I am beyond hyped now. ![]() |

Also, with this being released in theaters, I really hope that they give it an R rating rather than PG13. If it's PG13, then I see that as a loss, than a gain. Having it be rated R allows them to show a more grotesque, mature (sex and nudity), and F-bomb laced Walking Dead Universe full of what couldn't be done/show on television.

Where have you been bro? Rick Grimes left the series in Season 9 and these movies will follow his journey where he went. So no, it won't be adapting any of the comics (that's saved for the show).
Then what is the entire point of releasing this in theaters if it'll be a "PG13 watered down" version than what's shown on television? Which by the way, is completely R rated material. And it's not alienating their fanbase if the shows largest demographic is in the 18-49 range. |

It was later revealed the "dudes in armor" and the guy "talking like King Arthur" was all an act (which they don't talk like that anymore. And the garbage people were also an act. As Jadis (who's real name is Anne) speaks proper English and complete sentences. |

Sad, but true. Season 3-5 was the shows prime hit peak. Pulling in 15 million viewers a week. Now, it's a mere 4 million.

That's another thing, with a decline in viewership over the years, AMC must be really confident releasing the movies exclusively in theaters.
How much are they expecting it to make? Are we talking a $150-200 million hit or a $20 million failure? |

Hard to say what the movies would make, though. I'm sure they're also not going to have an enormous budget like the marvel movies. It should still be significantly larger than what TWD tv show has. |

If they’re to spend that amount on a feature length film, I’d be content with that. |
