Stewart, meanwhile, will not have to pack on the muscle for the film, as she's playing the co-lead, the protective lover of the weightlifter. The search is now on to play the central figure, with the producers looking for authenticity – which could mean a newcomer in the main role.

Film4 developed the project with Glass and Tofilska, and plans to co-finance the film with fellow indie movie titans A24.

Saw the poster and I was in immediately. Trailer looks great and I'm never not going to like a synthwave soundtrack.

Hoping it gets a physical release.
