This went on sale because I purchased the player two days ago for $245 open box.

Seriously..great deal on the player!

couldn't pass this up-- ordered!!

I've had this player for at least 5 years and it's starting to have difficulty reading discs... particularly regular blu rays struggling to load.

This is the best price I've ever seen for this player

I have been looking at this player. I have the UB420. Is it worth upgrading to the 820? Does Dolby Vision make that much of a difference over HDR 10?

You could get it at Best Buy if you have one near you. It's matched there.

Yes but with tax its just too much . over priced player . The china markups are really old news . no reason for the price hikes on electronics anymore . There is no shortages , that was 2020 . I pretty happy with my Sony 800m2 and oppo 103d, Just wanted a Panny 4k 820 for back up if one of my players fried + I think there are some remote tricks for region free much easier then Sony . My Oppo is region free but not 4K . There starting to lock some UHD's , Hope this doesn't become a trend .

Not really. Go look at the reviews on YouTube. And also depends on your TV. Can your TV actually do DV or HDR extremely well in the first place? If not don't worry about the 820.

A nice benefit of the 820 is also not having to manually switch back n forth between DV and HDR. I think in most instances (to my eyes) DV is a bit better than HDR. But, you'll find certain times where the HDR may be preferable. If you are in need of a new player, this is a great one and at that price? it's hard to beat right now.

Decent deal. It has been lower for open box pre -covid. I picked up a brand new player sealed for $299 then.

Also got a brand new 65" LG OLED from Amazon shipped and sold by Amazon for $205. Price mistake. They forgot the 1 before the $199.
