Wow....9 movies. I'll start applying for that mortgage extension now.

Seriously though, it's great to see these classic 3D movies from the 50's getting a release.

More like 8 movies. But both the spanish and english version of Dracula. For those who don't know they used to film these on the same set, usually at different times of the day. Usually different cast and directors. Essentially they couldn't do voice over in the early days of sound and so had to capture the sound live.

From the description, sounds like the Creature disk will be on an IMAX-style Hybrid disk, since they want to sell to the Monsters fans first, and 3D fans....later.
(Maybe a single spinoff if Dial M does well.)

Well, that's one way of doing it.
I can see more hybrid releases getting the vintage titles out there, rather than banish the obscure 2D's to studio archive (like Sony did with Mad Magician).

My Field Sequential 3D disc of this already looks amazing - can't wait to retire it! Hope they bring on Revenge of the Creature next!

Why dream small?
Let's hope Universal decides to break up the Monsters set into "Legacy Collections", gives us individual Frankenstein, Dracula, Invisible Man and Creature sets, and decides to include 3D Revenge also without telling us...

I had no idea this was shot in 3D. I've actually seen this movie only once but have been wanting to rewatch it for a long time. Now I might as well wait and see it in 3D (hopefully I am able to get my 3DTV by then!)

This is good news indeed. For 3D fans of the classic black and white horror movies, also check out the recent 2D to 3D conversion of Carnival of Souls 3D.

I thought Revenge of the Creature was the one in 3D, but I'm happy to see the original is also in 3D. I do prefer the first movie, as the 2nd one took place largely in a "Sea World" Pool Tank with the Creature attached to an anchor getting poked at with sticks. Still, I want to see both of them in 3D, the 2nd one having only seen it in anaglyph 3D on an 80's Soupy Sales TV special.

Stupid question...but isn't this gonna be in Red/Blue 3D? Or did they confirm it's gonna be the new 3D?

It will be on a Blu-Ray3D, and won't be red/green.

I get the feeling these films will not be released here because the market is too small, hopefully they are all region free.

Never mind, uk release and its half the price as the us release. Can't wait!

Couldn't be more pleased about this. Creature is easily my favourite classic horror film, but I've only ever seen it in 3-D in its anaglyph-converted form. It'll be a real treat watching it in genuine 3-D on a 3DTV, and I'm glad this ended up being the first classic 3-D title released to be released on 3DBD.

This is awesome news! I will be picking up this set and I cant wait to see what Creature looks like in 3D. This fall is shaping up to be a great one for fall/Halloween themed and horror films

Too bad they didn't offer all of them in 3D by converting those that were originally 2D. So the Creature From the Black Lagoon was originally filmed in 3D? That's pretty cool. The Creature is a classic monster. Too bad he doesn't have more movies with him as the star villain.

I wonder if they'll eventually offer this Creature Lagoon Blu 3D separately from the multi pack for 3D fans specifically?

Why not just colorize them all? NOT!

It was a Native-3D production! No digital conversions back then. A B-Picture original B&W classic that can be seen the way it was originally presented.
Enthusiasts would never be against that.

That's what makes the 50's so special.

Really puts the pressure on whether to buy or not.
